Mark Millar, the creator of Kick Ass was interviewed at the launch night of the Russian Standard Vodka Originals Film Festival and described the idea behind Kick Ass 2.
“… it’s gangs going all over New York filming atrocities on their cell phones and putting them on the internet, trying to outdo each other, all at the behest of Red Mist. My idea for Red Mist was to introduce a supervillian that made Heath Ledger’s Joker look like Cesar Romero’s Joker. He’s basically Charles Manson as a supervillian.”
The movie is set to come out in 2012 so if you haven’t seen the first movie – you have plenty of time to catch up.
