Eric Benet ft. Faith Evans “Feel Good”

This song was just leaked off of Eric Benets up and coming album “Lost In Time”.

The reasons I love Eric Benet:

*He is stupidly talented

*He doesn’t try and conform to what’s ‘hot’ out there today. He knows what he does well, what his biggest fans like and he sticks to it.

*His music is just insanely good :)

*The vocals (BV’s and all) = OoooooooWeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Really looking forward to his new album! people really need to keep supporting good music!

Peace,

Lucy

Prodigal One – Selfish Remix

So I was mucking around with the sampler on this Melody Whittle recording of Selfish One by Jackie Ross. Thought I’d throw Slum Village, Kanye & John Legend on it coz I always loved that song!

Anyways, this is what came out at the end. Check it out… Let me know what you think!

Throwback Thursday XII

This isn’t really a ‘throwback’ as the album came out in September 2004 but, we saw Martin Luther live at Foxxhole Monday this week and I was reminded how much I love his music (and i’m kinda in LURVE with his voice) ! :)

Although all the songs are fab on his album, this is one of my favourites. I would advise you  all to get to know this guys music if you don’t already!

Also check out his other songs especially  ”Muse Sick Dreams”  at his bandcamp page!

Anyways, Enjoy!

Justin Timberlake & Jimmy Fallon – History of Rap

This video is up everywhere on the net right now and even though I really don’t watch Jimmy Fallon, I always check out the videos that pop up coz it doesn’t get any better than The Roots. Anyway, here’s the clip of Justin & Jimmy Fallon doing a medley of rap classics from Sugarhill Gang & Run DMC, to Snoop & Biggie – Gotta love Jimmy Fallon’s vocals – dude is always singing. haha.

Like a lot of other people, it made me wonder when Justin was gonna release some new music but then I ran into this interview with Entertainment Weekly over at the.LIFE Files

“EW: Are there people you work with who are telling you that you should put another record out sooner rather than later?

Timberlake: …Does a painter make a painting because he has to make it by December 21st? No, he doesn’t. It happens when it pours out of him. That’s how music is for me….

Do you think it’s dangerous to wait so long? Christina Aguilera waited four years between albums, and her fans don’t seem to care about her right now.

If you’re asking me, no. I never stop making music. I don’t know what else to tell you, except that I just don’t know [in] what capacity I want to be involved anymore.

That sounds very final.

Timberlake: No. All I’m saying is, in very simple terms, I’ll know when I know. And until I know, I don’t know.”

Ooo.. Touchy subject by the sound of it… But hopefully Justin gets the urge again soon.

Peace,

Matt

Ne-Yo – Make A Movie

Ne-YoI’ve always loved Ne-Yo’s songwriting… The newer releases of his haven’t had me listening over and over like he used to but I like this track so I thought I’d throw it up for you all to check out…

Akala – Yours And My Children

So we’re kinda busy with a couple of spots we’re doing in the studio but I just caught this new video for Akala’s second single off his third album doublethink. The album came out in May and if you haven’t heard Akala’s stuff before you should definitely spend some time listening… This dude is amazing – extremely intelligent, so much that he’s  been chosen by London’s 2012 Olympics to curate some of its key cultural events.

Anyway, here’s the video for Yours and My Children – a track I believe was inspired by three months Akala spent in Brazil… and go look for more of his music online if you wanna hear some good hip hop.

Enjoy

Interview with Questlove

Just caught this clip of Gowhere Hip Hop’s Sgt. Tibs interviewing Questlove after his set at the Hennessy Artistry event in Chicago.

They talk about the new album, Wake Up!, The Obama campaign, Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and what it takes to become a genius – he’s a really on to it dude…. Check it out.

Then get on to your 10,000 hours!
